The “theater like” waiting room came about from the gastric bypass surgeon’s eagerness to teach his clients a way of life through audio visual aids. The doctor wanted his patients to sit in a fun but comfortable room for their educational training prior to their surgery. The reception desk was like the ticket booth to becoming thin and the beginning of their new life.
